While we all know that a certain Metroidvania launched today, there are actually some other games that decided to brave the occasion. Following launches on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S earlier this year, Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is now available digitally on Nintendo Switch.

Developer Primal Game Studio cooked up an action-RPG with a Soulslike influence and a narrative that takes players through a decaying, monster-filled world. Six main characters are available to enhance through a skill tree with a bunch of upgrades, and you can see more of it in action in the launch trailer below.

The Switch version packs in all the current improvements and features, with New Game Plus mode to follow this October. Here are some key bullets from the press release:

• A unique blend of challenging Soulslike combat, non-linear exploration, and narrative-rich RPG progression
   
• Over 40 hours of gameplay, six main character classes, an in-depth skill tree with hundreds of upgrades that can be combined with almost no limits to create unique multi-classes
   
• A branching, choice-driven storyline written by Brian Mitsoda (Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines)
   
• Hand-crafted 2.5D environments with stunning visual detail and atmospheric world design
   
• Original soundtrack composed by Christos Antoniou, recorded with the FILMharmonic Orchestra of Prague
