The wait that was so long it became a meme is finally over. Hollow Knight: Silksong is here, and it’s been met with arms so open that digital storefronts like Steam and the Nintendo eShop are having a hard time keeping up.
If you find yourself waiting (im)patiently to download and play, you can take a quick breather and check out the launch trailer below. This one highlights the Nintendo Switch 2 edition.
Hollow Knight: Silk Song Launch Trailer
The September 4 release was announced for Silksong just a couple weeks ago on August 21. Right on cue, a handful of fellow indie games announced delays so they wouldn’t have to divide audience attention, including Demonschool, Aeterna Lucis, Baby Steps and Little Witch in the Woods.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle). Here’s how Nintendo describes the Switch 2 version:
The epic sequel to Hollow Knight arrives today! Play as Hornet, princess-protector of Hallownest, and adventure through a whole new kingdom ruled by silk and song! Captured and brought to an unfamiliar world, Hornet must battle foes and solve mysteries as she undergoes a deadly pilgrimage to the kingdom’s peak. Journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts and uncover ancient secrets tied to your nature and your past. Hollow Knight: Silksong – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition launches today on the Nintendo Switch 2 system. Hollow Knight: Silksong is also launching today on the Nintendo Switch system.
