Get ready to “explore a whimsical world of falling stars and lost wishes” in Wishfarers, a 2D spell-slinging tactical RPG from developer Squiddershins. The team revealed the game this week alongside publisher Top Hat Studios, and you can get a quick idea of how it plays in the announcement video below.

Maybe it’s the side-scrolling design, or maybe it’s just those sweet destructible environments, but this is giving off some major Worms vibes. That’s definitely a positive, and hopefully tossing fireballs, lightning bolts and other means of destruction will be as fun as it looks in the preview.

Beyond the regular battles, plenty of mighty bosses await, from storm guardians to a giant Sasquatch, an “ancient psychic gem turtle” and more. It’s all filtered through platformer-style movement and supported with a lot of customizability through its seven classes and 100+ abilities. 

There’s currently no release date in place, but Wishfarers is in the works for PC and is available to wishlist on Steam.
