Everyone thinks about taking the kaiju down, but who takes the logistics of actually cleaning up the giant monster mess left behind into consideration? This conundrum has been the topic of media before, including manga and anime like Naoya Matsumoto’s Kaiju No. 8, and developer Brightrock Games embraces the aftermath with a side of PowerWash Simulator in the newly-announced Kaiju Cleanup.

Following a reveal during this past week’s Tokyo Game Show event, the first trailer arrived to show just how messy things can get after a colossal beast attacks the city.

Cleaning up a giant monster carcass isn’t all gory relaxation, of course. The kaiju may be dead, but the threat of your own demise is very real as its carcass leaks radiation, drains acidic fluids and sheds explosive organs. If you do meet your maker, they’ll just have to send in another clone and have it clean up your own corpse after all is said and done. The work must continue, after all.

Missions offer a bunch of different was to dispose of these towering post-mortem monstrosities. You can use a claw to remove innards, bust out the laser cutter to slice up meat, and powerwash all the muck that remains in the hazard zone. This equipment, along with your outfit and van, can be upgraded as you progress.

There’s no date in place yet for Kaiju Cleanup, but you can wishlist it on Steam while we wait for further release details. If you’re eager to start your grisly janitorial work right away, you can also sign up for a playtest.
