Mad King Redemption takes the style of classic beat ‘em ups like Golden Axe and mixes in roguelite elements for a more modern sense of progression, and we can try it out right now. Developer SECRET MISSION launched a demo for the brawler, just in time for October’s upcoming Steam Next Fest event.

The official Early Access release window for Mad King Redemption puts it somewhere in Q1 2026 on Xbox and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It’s currently available to wishlist while we wait for a more concrete date.

SECRET MISSION co-founder and lead developer Jacopo had the following to say about the team’s latest endeavor: “We wanted to create something that would make players feel like they’re back in the golden age of arcade beat ’em ups, but with the depth and replayability that modern gamers expect.”
