Disclosure: The author backed Mina the Hollower on Kickstarter

We’ve been waiting for a while for Mina the Hollower, the next game from Shovel Knight studio Yacht Club Games. It looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer now, as the devs made the tough decision to announce a delay.

The release was most previously planned for October 31, and while that would have made for a fitting Halloween treat, there’s still some polish to be added. There’s no new release date in place, but the team at Yacht Club said this “isn’t a major delay,” adding that they just need time to “apply some final polish and balancing to make the game truly shine.”

Here’s more from the update:

We don’t want to announce another release date until it’s submitted to platforms, so please hang tight as we reach the finish line.

The game is so close to being done- we’re playing it from start to finish every day. In the final hours, this is what the crew is working on:

  • Finalizing design, art, and sound
  • Overall game balancing
  • Implementing localization
  • Eating cheese
  • Testing, testing, testing… on all platforms!

Stay tuned for more info as a new release date for Mina the Hollower is determined.
