Developer Necrosoft Games and publisher Ysbryd Games previously had “school-life tactics RPG” Demonschool lined up for September 3, but those plans have changed. The latest update has Demonschool delayed to November 19, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to dive into its Shin Megami Tensei-inspired world.

This isn’t the first delay for Demonschool, but the team certainly hopes it will be the last. Considering what the previous date was, it should surprise no one that the announcement mentions Hollow Knight: Silksong’s upcoming September 4 release. Like Aeterna Lucis before it, Demonschool aims to maintain visibility and as such wants to avoid directly clashing with Silksong.

“If the September period is going to be Silksong‘s moment, then we need to be elsewhere on the calendar to give Demonschool its own moment to be seen and talked about meaningfully,” said Brian Kwek of Ysbryd Games.

In addition to extra polish, the team plans to use that time to work in additional endings and minigames, which were previously planned as post-launch additions. The delay now gives them a chance to make them available on the game’s release date.

When Demonschool launches on November 19, it will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
