If you’ve ever wanted to take on the role of a sea cucumber attempting to clean up its polluted home, NAMAKORIUM is a surprisingly specific fit. Developer Polyscape (MISTROGUE: Mist and the Living Dungeons) unveiled the co-op real-time strategy game over the weekend, setting the cute but chaotic outing for a January 2026 debut via Steam Early Access.
Up to four players can get in on the fun, which involves commanding Namako, gathering resources and constructing buildings in an effort to purify the pollution. You’ll need to do so before food runs out, adding an element of pressure into the mix.
Unique Namako are available depending on what you’re attempting to accomplish. Shell Namako can gather limestone, while Flame and Ice Namako can handle the more extreme ends of the sea’s temperature. There are also Iron Namako with traits suited for mining duties. You’ll just have to watch out for Blight Namako, which can suddenly appear to rot food and set the ocean’s clean-up operation back a few unsavory steps.
